Gas Engines: A Brief Description of How They Work and Their Applications

Image
Gas engines are internal combustion engines that run on natural gas, propane, or other gases. They are generally used in power generation, transportation, and industrial applications. In this blog, we will look over the  gas engines, how they work, and their various usages. How Gas Engines Work: A gas engine operates on the same basic principles as a gasoline engine. It is a four-stroke engine, consisting of an intake stroke, a compression stroke, a power stroke, and an exhaust stroke. However, there are some key differences between the two types of engines. In a gas engine , the fuel-air mixture is ignited by a spark plug. This causes the mixture to quickly combust, driving the piston down and generating power. Because natural gas and propane are gaseous fuels and they require a different fuel delivery system than liquid fuels like gasoline or diesel. The gas is typically delivered to the engine via a pipeline or compressed gas tank. Applications of Gas Engines: Gas engines are us...
